Adult Aquatics
Adaptive Aquatics
This is a learn-to-swim program as well as an exercise program for adults 18 years and up with disabilities. Various swim strokes are modified to suit each swimmer. Flotation devices are also used. Class is limited to five participants per session. Feel free to bring a companion to assist you in the locker room and/or in the water.

Time:  Thursday  9:00 - 9:30 am or 9:30 - 10:00 am
Fee:  Members $55  Non-Members $65

Adult Swim Instruction
This is the class you have always wanted! Exclusively for those age 18 and up that are very timid or fearful of the water. This class is also for those who want to improve their strokes and endurance and learn more about water safety.

Time:  Wednesday  7:00 - 8:00 pm
Fee:  Members $35  Non-Members $55

Aqua Fitness
Aqua fitness classes  (Aqua Pulse and H2O Flow) are a great way to get a fantastic, fun workout using the natural resistance of water, while combining a cardioaerobic work and muscle toning exercises. Come and see what a great workout in the pool can be!

Aqua Pulse
This high-energy class is an enjoyable combination of aerobic and toning exercises. This low-impact class focuses on core strength, balance, range of motion, flexibility, and cardiovascular strengthening. Use the water’s resistance to get your heart pumping and your muscles toned. Buoyancy barbells and noodles will be incorporated.

H2O Flow
This energetic shallow and deep water class is for all fitness levels. Using the resistance properties of water, this class is a perfect cardio, toning and strengthening workout. Using a variety of equipment, this class is the perfect introduction for those who are new to water fitness.

Silver Splash
Feel 20 years younger by joining in this fun program! Exercising in shallow water is a stress-free and safe way to reach your cardiovascular and muscle strengthening goals. You will see an increase in your flexibility while staying healthy and becoming more fit. Aqua shoes are recommended. No swimming ability required.

Arthritis Aquatics
This class features full range of motion exercises performed in the warm water pool for all levels of ability.

Baby Water Works
Get a total body work out while spending quality time with your baby! This program is for kids 8 months to 2 years old with a parent. Babies will experience healthy activities that focus on developing language, coordination, shape and color recognition, and more. A baby boat allows adults to engage in more optimal physical conditioning. No swimming ability required! Fit for Two

Designed for the expectant and new mother, this class is perfect for keeping fit during your pregnancy and postpartum. Classes are offered both on land and in the pool. Physician’s permission is required. This class is sponsored by Women’s and Children’s Services at Port Huron Hospital.

Lifeguard Training
You learned to swim at the YMCA, why not learn to lifeguard? The Lifeguard Training program provides comprehensive education centered on preventing accidents in aquatic environments. We focus on the practical aspects of what lifeguards need to know and on lifeguard and patron safety. This American Red Cross certification course includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Standard First Aid AED, Oxygen Administration, pocket mask, and text books. Students must be 16 years old and pass a prerequisite swim of 500 yards of various strokes. To receive your lifeguarding certificate you will need to pass a written exam with 80%, pass a final water skill test 100%, pass CPR/first aid skills and show a strong sense of responsibility.

SCUBA Diving
Discover the wonderful world that awaits you underwater by becoming a certifi ed PADI Open Water scuba diver. Learn the principles of diving from a certifi ed PADI instructor while practicing diving skills in the pool. Classes are offered once a month. Call 810-987-6400 more information.

Triathlon Swim Program
A non-competitive swim program designed to improve front crawl/freestyle technique, efficiency, and endurance. The coached practices provide workouts and stroke drills led by personal trainer and Iron Man Triathlete, Jackie Mall. Swimmers are sorted by speed and stamina. Perfect for triathletes and those looking to improve fitness! Must be 18 years old and able to swim 100 yards continuously.

United States Masters Swimming
United States Masters Swimming (USMS) is a national organization that provides organized workouts, competitions, clinics and workshops for adults aged 18 and over. Programs are open to all adult swimmers (fitness, tri-athlete, competitive, non-competitive) who are dedicated to improving their fitness through swimming. Must be able to complete one length of the pool! Additional practice times other than those listed below are available without a coach present but with workouts for you to follow. There is an additional fee of $45/year to participate in USMS sanctioned swim meets.
