ASD Inspire!
Created for children with an autism spectrum disorder and their parent(s) or caregiver, this program will use group music, movement, play and swimming activities to foster interactions between children and their parents. Class will meet once a week for five weeks. If you are interested in participating in this class, please contact Kati Garder: 810-987-6400 ext. 128, or kati@bluewaterymca.com.

Exercise & Diabetes  New!
Join marathon runner Bill King for a program that will challenge, inform and motivate people with diabetes to begin and continue a “physically active” life. Bill, who happens to have Type 1 diabetes,
brings his expertise both as an athlete and as diabetic to this program. Anyone who does a regular physical activity program, whether walking the neighborhood or working out at the Y or competing, is an athlete. The key to ANYONE being healthy and happy is regular physical activity. The program will include an “Ask the Expert” session that will provide guidance for safe, regular and available activities for those with diabetes. Vendors will be present from companies serving people with diabetes. Co-Sponsored by Port Huron Hospital and the Blue Water YMCA. Please register register by calling HealthAccess at 800-228-1484.

Sport/Deep Tissue Massage  New!
With Massage Therapists Jerry Jacobs and Andre Svacha. Sport/Deep Tissue Massage is designed to deal with specific body discomfort. This work focuses on the areas of complaint: neck, shoulders, back, hips, etc. with the goal of releasing restrictions or “knots” in the muscles. Begins mid-January. Stop by the Front Desk to make an appointment!

Fee:
1 Hour:  $45 for members, $50 for Non-Members
30-Minute:  $25 for members, $30 for Non-Members

Bus with Gus
This ever popular program is for children in 1st-5th grades interested in after-school fun. The program consists of supervised swim time and fun in the gym. Gym activities stress non-competitive games, teamwork and FUN! A light snack will be offered to all participants. Transportation to and from school will be provided. Registration forms will be distributed through the schools, so keep an eye out for flyers to be sent home with your elementary students for your chance to participate! This program is funded in part by the United Way.

Driver's Training
Blue Water Driving School offers adult and teen driver education classes at the YMCA that are designed for the convenience of the student driver. The Behind-the-Wheel element of the program is personalized and sensitive to the needs and skill level of each individual. Blue Water Driving School is committed to providing exceptional driver education in a safe, friendly classroom environment at the lowest possible cost. Home School Gym and Swim Program

A great way for home-schooled children to get their gym credit during the school year and make new friends. This program is open to all children in 1st - 12th grade. Children must be 6 years old to participate. Children are divided up during gym time into different groups according to age.

Time:  Thursday 1:00-3:00 pm
Fee:  Members FREE, Non-member 1st Child $40, Non-member 2nd Child $30

Kids Night Out!!!!!
Children ages 5-13 are invited to come to the YMCA for an evening of swimming, sports, games and FUN! Participants will be supervised by YMCA staff and given a snack while they enjoy an evening of new friends and new games. Children must bring swimsuit and towel, and wear clothes to play in.

Fee:  $8 for members, $15 for non-members

Water Safety
This program, which began in 1984, offers the opportunity to each 4th grade class in the Port Huron Area School District and area parochial schools to come to the YMCA for a 45-minute classroom presentation and an hour water safety lesson in the pool. This program runs throughout the school year and is sponsored by the Noon Optimist Club. PHASD provides the transportation.
