Hapkido

Hapkido is a dynamic and eclectic Korean martial art. It is a form of self-defense that employs joint locks, pressure points, throws, kicks and other strikes. Hapkido practitioners train to counter the techniques of other martial arts as well as common unskilled attacks. This class can help students of all martial arts reach another level in their art.

 

Ages:  9+ years old, all belt levels welcome

Time:  Friday  7:15 - 9:00 pm

 Saturday  10:15 am - noon

Fee:  Friday or Saturday - $35 for members, $50 for non-members

         Friday and Saturday - $55 for members, $70 for non-members

         Drop In - $14 for everyone


Tae Kwon Do

This Korean martial art is for the whole family, whether you are interested in self-defense, competition or physical fitness. Each class is specially designed for the appropriate age group. This is a progressive class where individuals are given the opportunity to test for higher ranks and are encouraged to compete at the local, state, regional and national level tournaments. This program is affiliated with Michigan AAU Tae Kwon Do.

 

Dates:  February 24 - April 14 and April 21 - June 2

Age:  4-6 years old (Beginners)
Time:  Wednesday  5:00 - 5:30 pm
Fee:  Members $15 Non-Members $25

Age:  7-11 years old (Beginners)
Time:  Wednesday  5:30 - 6:15 pm
Fee:  Members $20 Non-Members $30

Age:  7-11 years old (Intermediate)
Time:  Wednesday  6:15 - 7:15 pm
Fee:  Members $25 Non-Members $35

Age:  12+ years old (Beginner-Advanced)
Time:  Wednesday  7:15 pm - 8:30 pm
Fee:  Members $30 Non-Members $40


Street Self-Defense

Age:  14+ years old
Time:  Wednesday  8:20 - 9:20 pm
Fee:  Members $30 Non-Members $40


Tai Chi

Tai Chi is the graceful system of movement developed in China thousands of years ago for self defense. This is a relaxing, stress reducing program that can build stamina and strength, increase flexibility and balance, and improve health. Students are expected to attend the weekly class and to practice at home for four minutes each day. Wear comfortable clothing. Tai Chi movements are done standing and slowly to promote relaxation. New students can follow the forms and receive help from others to learn the movements.

Time:  Monday  6:15 - 7:15 pm
Fee:  $25 for members, $50 for non-members
