Our Mission

It is the mission of the YMCA of the Blue Water Area to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build spirit, mind, and body for all. In all it does, the Blue Water YMCA promotes the ideals of ethical and moral lifestyles in its members and the community it serves by providing the leadership and facilities necessary to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.

Our History

As one of the first YMCAs in Michigan, the YMCA of the Blue Water Area continues to enrich the lives of St. Clair County residents. Founded in 1886, the Blue Water YMCA has been a fixture in downtown Port Huron ever since. It is the only YMCA serving the region and the single largest service provider of health, wellness, fitness, childcare, and non-school related physical education in the area. All programs and services at the Y celebrate the fundamental core values of the YMCA of the USA: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
