Exercise & DiabetesJoin marathon runner Bill King for a program that will challenge, inform and motivate people with diabetes to begin and continue a “physically active” life. Bill, who happens to have Type 1 diabetes,
brings his expertise both as an athlete and as diabetic to this program. Anyone who does a regular physical activity program, whether walking the neighborhood or working out at the Y or competing, is an athlete. The key to ANYONE being healthy and happy is regular physical activity. The program will include an “Ask the Expert” session that will provide guidance for safe, regular and available activities for those with diabetes. Vendors will be present from companies serving people with diabetes. Co-Sponsored by

Family Read and Fitness Night Reading is the key to success in school. Family Read Nights were developed to get kids excited about reading and offer a families a positive fun evening together. New this year is a combined activity for students from Cleveland, Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson schools at the Blue Water
Y! The event includes celebrity readers, celebrity fitness trainers, crafts and a book walk (similar to a cake walk). Every child receives at least one new book to take home. Sponsored by the

Kids Night Out!!!!!
Children ages 5-13 are invited to come to the YMCA for an evening of swimming, sports, games and FUN! Participants will be supervised by YMCA staff and given a snack while they enjoy an evening of new friends and new games. Children must bring swimsuit and towel, and wear clothes to play in.

Salmon Stakes This event is a fundraiser for the Blue Water YMCA, a fun family event in St. Clair and a fishing tournament. Raffle tickets are $10 and each ticket is entry into the raffle for wonderful prizes, registration for the tournament, a discount coupon for the Voyageur AND a guest pass for the Y. Coordinated by the
Blue Water Sportfishing Association, the Salmon Stakes Fishing Tournament is one of the largest tournaments in the area. Come to St. Clair the day of the tournament to watch the fishermen weigh in their catch as well as participate in family activities, entertainment and fun.
